White papers/Case studies

The folks at Pawling & Associates are more than writers. We're also translators who specialize in explaining complex issues and products in simple and persuasive ways. We work until we know your products and services well enough to write about them with authority, and then we set about accomplishing the mission of the piece.

White papers
Two recent examples: We did this for the Harman Group, a full-service agency based near Washington, D.C. It outlines best practices for webinars in order to generate the maximum number of sales leads. Also, this is another white paper we did for Harmon Group client Tandberg.

The high cost of disparate data: This is an example of the kind of work we do for OnMessage, a full-service agency based in Dallas. This white paper addresses the painfully high cost of failing to unite and aggregate HR data. It's an example of what two leading companies - Pawling & Associates and OnMessage - can do when they put their heads together.

Case studies

For global security leader SafeNet: This describes how SafeNet Inc. helped with a "chip and PIN" deployment at a U.K. bank, Egg PLC. (We also consulted with SafeNet on how best to present its products on its Web site, and subsequently rewrote the entire product description section of its site).

Cisco work: Here's a case study for Cisco Systems' iQ magazine on how a leading New York City law firm uses its IT system to further its practice.

Samples for an organizational charting company: Following are examples of work we did for OnMessage of Dallas. Essentially we're part of the OnMessage team, and we handle the majority of their copy needs, from press releases to white papers to strategic remessaging projects. We wrote these case studies for OnMessage client Aquire, a global provider of organizational charting and HR management software: This outlines Aquire's implementation in the City of Boulder; here is one focusing on a major energy company; and this outlines successes for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

More OnMessage samples: These were for OnMessage client Bowman Systems, which supplies software to the social services industry.
- How Web-enabled cooperation makes a difference for New England's homeless.
- With Bowman software, the Red Cross deals with emergencies more efficiently.
- In the heart of Texas, software shows a helping hand.

Another recent Cisco case study: How one Silicon Valley city succeeds with residents who want it all.

Following are some of the case studies I've personally been doing for Cisco Systems' iQ (Internet Quotient), a magazine focused on Internet business issues.
